Well it’s almost summer, summer, summer time and that means having the ease to grab and go about life and your activities effortlessly. My preferred bag that checks all the boxes is a large tote; one that can hold all my essentials: sunglasses, small sunscreen/ lotion, folding umbrella, magazines or reading material, water bottle and a small crossbody or wristlet, should I need to leave the tote behind. There should be enough room to add a towel and snacks if going to the beach or chillin’ on a park bench. But you already know how I operate, it has to be functional yet stylish!  

Some of my requirements:

  –Durable Material: My favorite totes or nylon (lightweight), woven straw or canvas. It should withstand sun, sand and the occasional splash!

  –Spacious Interior: I prefer totes that are flexible and can expand to accommodate a lot! My purse insert of essentials should fit with ease.

 –Comfortable Straps:  Straps that won’t dig into my shoulders even when carrying heavier items and straps long enough to wear over shoulder and short-enough to hand-carry.

  –Interior Pocket and Secured Closure: at least a magnetic closure and a zippered pocket to secure keys and flat wallet. Bonus is having a separate pocket for my phone.

 –Stylish: I select bright patterned summer colors (as shown in photo), neutrals or metallics. It has to be stylish whether at the beach or out to lunch with friends. 

Tip: Select a few go-to coordinating sandals, colorful shoes, sneakers and accessories in advance that allows you to get dress in a jiffy! It’s summer time, you shouldn’t be staring in your closet for long periods of time trying to decide what to wear.  Shop-Your-Closet in advance to create a summer capsule of favs–this will help for quick dates or for summer travel!
